TIME: 5:30 - 8:00 pm
Defining Learner Success with Journey Mapping
As learners perform tasks, they interact with a complex network of people, processes, and technologies. In theory, this network has been specifically designed to enable learner success. In reality, many learning journeys and ecosystems come together with piecemeal analysis and evaluation. They are often the result of thousands of un-aligned decisions, across multiple facets of an organization, with no one looking at the larger picture. The benefits of Journey Mapping might be obvious (to make learner-focused design decisions), but figuring out where to start can be overwhelming. As L&D professionals we need a way to make evidence-based recommendations for learner and organizational success, to prove the ROI of learning initiatives and to easily communicate this larger picture to all stakeholders who make decisions that benefit more than just L&D.

About the Presenter:
Sam deGeus
Over the past 10 years Sam deGeus has designed learning programs for a variety of business, and has seen the systems, technologies and practices we use in the L&D industry change and grow rapidly. For every organization she's worked for, visualizing the network of people and technologies that enable a learner to be successful has been a huge challenge. Mapping is a tool that brings together her love of communicating through imagery, with her love of designing learning experiences that positively impact our learners.
Network. Learn. Grow.
